The unidentified woman is on the run after dumping a new born baby in Kapchorwa hospital pit latrine on Tuesday morning and while it was raining.
According to the eye witness Chesuro Ronny, who has been attending to his patient at the hospital, a teenage girl came and informed him that there was a baby crying inside the latrine.
“While I was in the hospital, a girl who had gone to the toilet for convenience, came and told me that there was a child crying in the toilet and I had to go and check out,” he said.
He noted that, as he approached the toilet, he found out that indeed a New born baby had been thrown into the toilet.
“The baby had been thrown in the toilet and storned in an attempt to kill her. Unfortunately the baby didn’t die and we rescued her and she’s currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” he added.
He stated that, the baby wasn’t in any way injured but maggots were coming out through the ears, mouth and the eyes.
The hospital management was able to give her the necessary medication to stabilize her health.
The issue was reported to Kapchorwa CPS pending investigation.
According to sources, the owner of the baby is estimated to be 14 years old and was in the company of the mother who is believed to have been behind the motive.
It’s believed that the suspect is from Kaptoyoy Sub-County, Kween District.
