UPDF to recruit 9k people in the force 2024

The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) have announced a countrywide mass recruitment drive set for 2024. This extensive recruitment campaign will commence on 1st July 2024 and conclude on 14th July 2024. The exercise is scheduled to take place across 135 districts and 11 cities throughout Uganda.

Eligible applicants are Ugandan citizens aged between 18 and 22 years. Prospective candidates must have completed their Senior Four (S.4) education between 2020 and 2023, with mandatory passes in both English and Mathematics.

Brigadier General Alex Olupot has indicated that approximately 9,627 new entrants are expected to be inducted into the UPDF through this process. The recruitment aims to bolster the ranks of the national defense force with capable and qualified individuals.

In the Sebei Sub-region, interviews are scheduled for 8th July 2024. Applicants from the districts of Bukwo, Kween, and Kapchorwa are required to convene in Kapchorwa for their interviews.

This structured and widespread recruitment effort reflects the UPDF’s commitment to enhancing national security and providing career opportunities to the youth of Uganda. The initiative underscores the importance of meeting the eligibility criteria and adhering to the recruitment schedule to ensure a smooth and efficient selection process.
